I was lucky enough to get an early preview of the new and gorgeous @omahalibrary’s new Central Library on 72nd and Dodge! After driving by the construction site for well over a year, it was pretty exciting to finally step inside. The architecture is gorgeous—if it doesn’t win awards I’ll be shocked. And it’s really quiet considering the traffic outside! There lots of parking spaces and every single floor is so beautifully designed. Countless comfy chairs, study rooms, and of course books! @nttbfest was a blast! I should have taken more pictures 😫 but here are a few highlights. Meeting @fredtjoseph was truly wonderful; chatting with the very funny and sweet R. L. Stine @rl_stine1; meeting so many authors IRL after knowing them online, like @authorlylalee; one of three great panels, this one with @booksbystefany @taylorcassidyj; our amazing audience at the K-Pop panel with @elloecho @authorlylalee @susanleewrites @glamtart; receiving these sweet friendship book bracelets by @findangoh; gushing over this Fitzwilliam Darcy t-shirt with a lovely reader! And finally this…a reader brought an actual ancient ARC of my first book, Control, from 2013 for me to sign! Wow! Oh and also met a Star Wars High Republic fan (not pictured) because I have friends everywhere. 😉

I wish I’d had more pictures to share! Nevertheless it was so fantastic meeting so many bookish people and catching up with old friends. ❤️❤️❤️

I had two books come out last year, and I have two books coming out next year. I thought this was going to be a year of writing and no book releases but… This one’s coming out June 30! All the short stories that @crashwong and I wrote in Star Wars Insider magazine for Phase 3 of the High Republic will be available in a couple of months. On our last half day, we did a quick trip to the little Kimchi Museum and it was well worth it! It’s such an iconic part of the cuisine and I learned a lot! #Kimchi #seoul #korea #koreanfood

Back from Seoul! The two big reasons we went were

Back from Seoul! The two big reasons we went were because three out id the five in my family have never been to Korea, and my next YA book takes place in a summer language program like Yonsei University’s (I went there as did my middle kiddo!). So, I had some research to do. Fun research!

We had such a full week that I was frozen with indecision on how to share these pictures, so we’re going mostly by timeline.

Most of these pictures are from Hongdae, near Yonsei University (there is a nighttime scene in my book that takes place in Hongdae with the pink painted streets). We stayed nearby in the Yeonnam neighborhood where we had an Airbnb.

The food was great every day! The first night we went to a bbq place that was all about the pork belly and kimchi. And every time we went into a convenience store like GS25 or 7-11, there was always going to be a wall of meat on a stick 😆 I think we got convenience store snacks every day, the were so good! #korea #seoul #hongdae
